Council Tax £150 Energy Rebate
If your home is in Council Tax bands A to D, you are likely to receive a £150 Council Tax rebate from the Government. This is to help towards the cost of living now that gas and electricity prices are set to go up.
To get the rebate, you must be responsible for paying Council Tax at the property. You could still be entitled even if you get full Council Tax Support. Empty homes or second homes won’t get this rebate.
If you are eligible and have already been paying your Council Tax by Direct Debit, we will make the one-off payment straight into the same bank account. This will happen in late April or early May. You don’t need to do anything else.
Other help available The government has said there will be a discretionary scheme for people with homes in Council Tax bands E to H, and also people who don’t need to pay Council Tax but are still affected by high energy bills. When we know more about the discretionary scheme, we’ll put it on this website.
