A message from Suffolk Coastal District Council:-

In May 2018, the government agreed to set up a new local authority called East Suffolk Council. Following our draft recommendations consultation from 3 July 2018 to 27 August 2018, the Commission has now finalised ward boundaries for the new authority, in time for its first elections in May 2019

Today we published our final recommendations for future electoral arrangements for East Suffolk.

We are proposing that East Suffolk Council should have 55 councillors.

Those councillors should represent 8 three-councillor wards, 10 two-councillor wards and 11 one councillor wards, across the council.

We have now completed our electoral review of East Suffolk Council.

We are extremely grateful to the people of East Suffolk who took the time and effort to send us their views.

We considered every piece of evidence we received before finalising our recommendations.
