"We have now had a second meeting of this group with 14 people from local organisations and groups attending. Discussion centred on three local priorities identified at the first meeting: A Community Inclusivity Open Day event, a much wider range of Community Information on the Website, and funding for Youth Work Provision. Spadge Hopkins, from FAYAP, has been asked to develop a youth provision project proposal for submission in March to the Community Partnership Area for funding.
The meeting also set up the Working Group formally with a core of nine members, to be chaired by Cllr Hine. So, while we are well on our way with such a good start, this project will always be open to all who want to participate by attending the open meetings, or simply receiving copies of meeting notes and supporting documents, and responding when issues and ideas are particularly relevant. The aim is to create a way for our community to collectively develop new project ideas for events and activities based on the needs of our community."
