Candidates confirmed for first ever East Suffolk Council election

Information about candidates taking part in the first ever East Suffolk Council elections has now been published. 

The “Statements of Persons Nominated” details who will be standing in each of the new authority’s 29 wards for the election which take place on Thursday May 2 2019. Nominations for town and parish council elections will also be published shortly.

55 councillors in total will be elected to represent East Suffolk following the creation of the council which replaced Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils on April 1.

Polls will open from 7am until 10pm on May 2nd and the count will take place at Waterlane Leisure centre in Lowestoft from 9am the following day. Counting in the Town and Parish elections will begin at 9.30am on Saturday May 4.
